Tim Hickey began studying Tap Dance in 1984 with Rhee and Rennie Gold in Boston, Ma. He went on to study with Jimmy Mitchell of the Slyde Brothers, and took master classes from Cookie Cook, Steve Condos, and many of the present legendary hoofers such as Dianne Walker and Sam Weber.
In 1988 he got the part of Andy Lee in 42nd Street with a touring company from New York, which took him all over the US, Canada and Israel.
Tim moved to Seattle in 1991 to raise his son and piloted a tap dance program at Spectrum Dance Theater; performed as tap soloist in Seattle's Festivals of Tap Dance; and holds the honor of tap dance soloist for over ten years in "The Duke Ellington Sacred Music Concert" with Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra (SRJO).
He has performed with legendary Jazz Musicians including Buddy Catlett; Don Lanphere; Marc Seales; Greta Matassa and has tap-danced recently with famous blues artists such as Nick Vigarino, Lil Bill Engelhart and Lee Oskar.
Tim has also successfully produced many Tap Dance productions at Kirkland Performance Center, including the Northwest Tap Fest.
Tim has had much experience on TV and Film, and his most recent shoot - a commercial for Washington State Lotto, airing 2009/2010 - was directed by Patrick Daughters ('Feist'; 'Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs') and choreographed by Michael Rooney (son of actor Mickey Rooney) and features a soundtrack by 'Grizzly Bear'.
